Saturday In The Park
Chicago
I think it was the Fourth of July
Saturday in the park,
I think it was the Fourth of July
A man selling ice cream
Singing Italian songs
Everybody is another
Can you dig it (yes, I can)
And I’ve been waiting such a long time
For Saturday
I think it was the Fourth of July
Another day in the park
I think it was the Fourth of July
A man playing guitar
And singing for us all
Will you help him change the world
Can you dig it (yes, I can)
And I’ve been waiting such a long time
For today
A bronze man still can tell stories his own way
Listen children all is not lost, all is not lost, oh no, no
Every day’s the Fourth of July
Funny days in the park
Every day’s the Fourth of July
A real celebration
Waiting for us all
If we want it, really want it
Can you dig it (yes, I can)
And I’ve been waiting such a long time
For the day, yeah yeah
One of my favorite bands of all time is Chicago. One of their popular songs is Saturday In The Park. This song always reminds of July 4th. Mainly because it is the lyrics to one of the first lines of the song! “Saturday in the park, I think it was the fourth of July.” The entire time we were taking photos in this gorgeous park in Raleigh, North Carolina I couldn’t get it out of my head. It was the soundtrack to my photo shoot. “People dancing, people laughing. A man selling ice cream.” If you have never heard this song I suggest you YouTube it immediately! If you are familiar with this song. You’re welcome. Because you will now have it stuck in your head for the next week.
I never wear shorts. You can ask any of my friends and most of them will tell you they’ve never seen me in shorts. I have always been self conscious of my legs, but I am working to embrace what God has given me. I completely acknowledge I am the one who put myself in this predicament with my weight. But you can’t wait until you are where you think should be to start living. You will miss out on life. So in short, I am wearing shorts! These shorts are the first pair of shorts I have purchased for myself in years. I purchased them from Cato Fashions. I find Cato has some of the best jeans and shorts for women who might be carrying around a little extra junk in their trunk. My white t-shirt also came from Cato Fashions. My Necklace is an old find on the clearance rack at Walmart. The key to my heart is not through my stomach. It is through a sale. I purchased my kimono at Walmart of all places! I could not find my exact kimono on the website but HERE is one very similar! My shoes are my go to G by Guess Backer Lace Up Quilted Sneaker. You can find them HERE!
Another day in the park. We had such a fun time exploring Nash Square Park. The sights and sounds were truly lyrics straight out of a song. Can you dig it? Yes, I can.
Xoxo
